Hotel Gasthof zur Post outside view

Chronicle

Just standing in front of the Gasthof zur Post you feel drawn into a different time. Above the entrance a twelve meter fresco from 1618 adorns the house wall, telling a hunting story from that time. Parts of the façade are over 700 years old speak quietly of the enduring caftsmanshift of the Middle Ages.

The foundations originate from the year 1330. In 1415 the license to sell beer was granted, beginning a long tradition of fine hospitality. For a long time the Gasthof zur Post was used as a posting house, thus the name.

In 1999 Katharina and Norbert Leitner acquired the traditional Hotel.

2004: Alteration & Renovation!

For the renovation we took special care to create a harmony around the ancient and precious elements. We sourced long forgotten materials such as massive stones, high- grade slate, heavy marble paving stones, a lot of rustic wood and copper fittings to shape the entire building.
